About

MEET THE AUTHOR

Rosemary is an Australian author and a lover of fiction that highlights family bonds, combined with historical fiction. Over her lifetime she has worked in banking and insurance, along with juggling the family businesses.

She lives with her husband John on a table grape vineyard with a black cat, Thomas, who loves swimming and a Jack Russell, Brutus, who does not like water at all, on the Murray River at Euston, New South Wales.

Thanks to Covid, the passion of writing novels reemerged and along with that her artwork, mainly water colour and acrylic, flourished as well. She ventured down the self-publishing path with her first novel, Alfredo – How The Angel Got His Wings in 2023 after winning a short story competition in 2020, run by a small online writing company. Mack opened the door to the possibility that her writing was good enough to share.

With a large family and growing number of grandchildren to provide character inspiration, Rosemary drew on the ‘trip of a lifetime’ to Europe in 2016 for settings for her first novel.

After caring for and losing her beloved mother-in-law to cancer in 2024, Rosemary was encouraged to step out of the office and do the things she loved doing.

Two leaves

When writing her second novel, Raising Sparrows, Rosemary turned her attention to the past to uncover the family that shaped her Australian heritage. Genealogy searches revealed grandmothers with extraordinary stories – and secrets – stories too good not to tell.

In addition, Rosemary has published a Memoir for her own mother under her imprint company, A Pocket Full Press. Her other current work in progress is a picture book featuring her artwork of her mother-in-law and grandchildren. Although neither of these are for commercial sales, they have sprouted ideas that could lead to commissioned work in those areas.

To complement her written work, Rosemary’s artwork features on a line of tea towels, greeting cards and notes. A brochure featuring product images, availability, and pricing can be provided upon request. Email Rosemary here.
